THE ELAC FOUNDATION WASHINGTON D.C
. GATEWAY INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

The ELAC Foundation Washington D.C. Gateway Internship Program (WGIP) offers 2 to 4 East Los Angeles College students a 4 week Summer internship between June and July.

The WGIP provides students with an opportunity to participate in the legislative, political, and administrative process. Students will follow in Supervisor Solis’ footsteps by contributing their new knowledge to the East Los Angeles College Community.

The WGIP seeks to provide students with leadership experience through participation in the legislative, political, and administrative process in Washington D.C.

Goal 1: Leadership development.

Goal 2: Networking opportunities.

Goal 3: Professional, personal, and community development.

BENEFITS
• Housed at the George Washington University dormitories

• Round-trip airfare to Washington D.C.

• Stipend will be provided by the ELAC Foundation

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
• Minimum 18 years of age
• Enrolled as a full-time student at ELAC in the Spring 2018 semester
• Complete 30 units by the end of Spring and planning to enroll at ELAC for Fall 2018
• A cumulative GPA of 3.0
• Complete English 101 by Fall 2017
• Complete one of the following courses by Spring 2018: Political Science 1, Comm 101 or
104, English 103, History 6, 11, 12, Chicano Studies 7 or 8
• Must not hold a post-secondary degree
