Pop! Bursting the California Water Bubble at East Los Angeles College

Monterey Park (CA)- On Thursday, November 16, 2017 over hundred business and community leaders attended BizFed Institute NextUp Economic Forum: Pop! Bursting the California Water Bubble at East Los Angeles College. This was ELAC Foundation’s first partnership with BizFed Institute.

This was a kick off to the NextUp Economic Forum multi-part series on population change and its effect on resources and the economy in California. The first installment of the series focuses on innovative sourcing of water and meaningful solutions for water sustainability to avoid reactive measures and be vigilant in staying ahead of potential water shortages in the future, especially given the inevitability of droughts in the future and expected rising temperatures. We're specifically looking at stormwater capture, turning unused water to viable potable water through desalination and recycling, and water innovation in the pipeline. The forum brought together leading industry experts who represent the spectrum of opinions.

BFI, a lateral and complementary arm to the Los Angeles County Business Federation (BizFed), is a statewide effort to bring diverse voices together to tackle tough issues, educate the business community and other stakeholders through forums led by thought leaders, and serve as the clearinghouse for data-driven knowledge for building a stronger and more sustainable economy.
