MONTEREY PARK, CA- East Los Angeles College (ELAC) Foundation recently donated $13,116 for expenses related to clinical requirements for ELAC Allied Health Medical Assistant and Respiratory Therapy Program Students.

The donation helped forty-two ELAC students enter a clinical setting at our affiliated partner sites, including hospitals and community clinics. Unfortunately, many of the students were uninsured or underinsured. As a result, they could not afford the cost of vaccinations and physical exams, including physical examination, TB test, titers, flu, Hep B vaccine, varicella vaccine, and MMR vaccine.

“The ELAC Foundation Board is proud to sponsor these forty-two well deserving students as they persuade their careers in the field of health care. Unfortunately, there is a shortage of medical assistance and respiratory therapist due to ot Covid-19 Pandemic. We hope our support can help close the gap, even if it is a small percentage,” said Marissa Castro-Salvati, President of East Los Angeles College Foundation.

"Our ELAC Students and community are grateful to the ELAC Foundation for their generous donation. This donation will help our Allied Health and Respiratory Therapy students complete their vital clinical requirements and continue their career path," said ELAC President Alberto J. Román.
