Dr. Grace Castillo

Grace Castillo is a native Angelino born in the heart of East Los Angeles. As a first-
generation college student, she takes pride in holistically serving students and creating
support structures encompassing diversity, access, and student wellbeing. Grace’s
experience includes various roles in Student Affairs at private and public institutions.
She currently serves as the Assistant Vice President and Dean of Student Success at
Pitzer College, Claremont College Consortium.

She is an EOP graduate from California State University, Los Angeles with a Bachelor
of Science degree in Business Administration, Cal State University, Fullerton with a
Master of Science degree in Counseling and a Doctorate degree in Educational
Leadership from the University of Southern California. Her research includes first-year
experiences of foster youth and the correlation between engagement, retention and
academic success. She has been successful in grant writing submissions to non-profit
organizations in Los Angeles including the California Wellness Foundation.

Although Grace graduated from Cal State Los Angeles as a Golden Eagle, she comes
from a family of proud East Los Angles College Huskies as all her siblings and mother
graduated from East Los Angeles College. She is coming back to her roots as a board
member with a strong desire to serve and make a difference to students in her beloved
community.
