The Ron Lau and Guadalupe Corona Scholarship
Overview:
Ron Lau and Guadalupe Corona are a loving and devoted husband and wife, father and mother, and grandpa and grandma. They have always instilled in their children, Alfredo, Lizeth, Christopher, and Catherine, the value of education. They intricately weaved together two different cultures, Ron his Chinese heritage and Guadalupe her Mexican heritage. They have always worked tirelessly to support others and stressed the importance of hard work, integrity, and being kind to others. Ron’s favorite sayings are “I’m a lucky boy” and that “I have a good life” while Lupe always stated that “Con dios todo es posible”. They hope to inspire future generations including their own seven grandchildren, Jordan, Alexa, Julian, Lorenzo, Luciano, Daniela, and Leila. The Ron Lau and Guadalupe Corona Scholarship will pay tribute to their legacy of always helping others and paying it forward in assisting students to reach their educational goals by providing financial assistance to further their academic education.
Who should apply?
To be considered for a scholarship, you must be:
- Must be a current ELAC student who will continue at ELAC or transfer to a 4-year university;
- Must have completed at least 12 units or more at East Los Angeles College with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or better;
- All majors are welcome. Emphasis on Business Administration, Child, Family, and Education Studies, Respiratory Therapy, and Engineering and Technologies majors.
Selection Criteria:
Applicants Must:
- Must demonstrate the need for financial assistance;
- Minimum of 2.0 GPA or better;
- Completed application, together with all required documents, must be postmarked no later than the published deadline.
Requirements:

- Attach a recent copy of transcripts (unofficial accepted) for all your college work, including Spring 2022 courses;
- Complete the supplemental Question (details noted below)
Supplemental Question (500 words total).
Answer any or all of the following:
