Reyna Valadez, M.A. Ed.

Reyna Valadez, respected as a credible voice in the community has taken her own experiences as a Mexican American minority from Boyle Heights and East Los Angeles to take action, inspire change, and empower underrepresented people.

Mrs. Valadez, has mobilized state-wide and district-wide efforts that support equity initiatives such as food insecurities, LGBTQ+ initiatives, health & nutrition education, HIV/AIDS prevention, the importance of family in college success, potential pathways to citizenship, homelessness, foster care, mental health education and prevention ingenuities.

Recently appointed, the Senior Director for Workforce Development/Human Resources at AltaMed Health Services and as a Professor with the credit/non-credit department under Child, Family and Educational Studies at the Los Angeles Community College District at East Los Angeles College.

Mrs. Valadez, holds a Master’s Degree in Education – Leadership and Administration from the University of Southern California, and is currently in her first year of her doctoral program at Walden University, where she will specialize in Higher Educational Leadership, Management, and Policy.

Mrs. Valadez serves on several Boards of Directors including East Los Angeles Alumni Association Executive Board of Directors as the Vice President, Plaza Community Service as the Early Head Start/Head Start Chair, the Rotary Club of East Los Angeles, and East Los Angeles Women Center executive board.
